Course Overview

This comprehensive, hands-on educational course is designed for interventionalists, vascular surgeons, and other medical professionals seeking to enhance their skills and knowledge in advanced strategies for the management of Chronic Limb-Threatening Ischemia (CLTI), Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD), venous obstructions, and IVC filter placement and retrieval. The course combines didactic lectures with practical, hands-on sessions to provide participants with both the theoretical foundation and technical expertise required to perform complex interventions.  

Key areas of focus include: 

1. Advanced CLTI Interventions: Participants will explore strategies for managing CLTI, with a focus on advanced endovascular techniques, decision-making frameworks, and patient selection. Emphasis will be placed on revascularization strategies, including stenting and re-entry, with an eye on improving patient outcomes.  

2. PAD Access Techniques: This section will provide an in-depth understanding of the most effective access techniques for PAD procedures. Participants will learn how to manage difficult access sites, navigate tortuous anatomy, and optimize percutaneous access to the femoral, tibial, and other arteries involved in PAD treatment. 

3. Venous Obstruction Management: Participants will gain expertise in diagnosing and managing venous obstructions using minimally invasive endovenous techniques. The course will cover stenting and other interventions to address both acute and chronic venous disease, with a focus on improving quality of life and reducing complications. 

4. IVC Filter Placement and Retrieval: A critical component of this course is the practical training on IVC filter placement and retrieval, with detailed attention to indications, procedural techniques, complications, and best practices for both temporary and permanent filter management.  

Throughout the course, participants will engage in didactic and hands-on training to develop proficiency in these advanced procedures. Expert faculty will provide real-time feedback, allowing participants to refine their techniques and improve procedural confidence.   

Course Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Comprehend and apply advanced strategies for Chronic Limb-Threatening Ischemia (CLTI) interventions, with a focus on improving patient outcomes in complex cases. 

2. Master percutaneous access techniques for Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD), including advanced methods for managing challenging vascular anatomy. 

3. Understand the diagnosis and treatment options for venous obstructions, and gain proficiency in minimally invasive techniques for venous interventions. 

4. Develop skills in IVC filter placement and retrieval, including procedural techniques, indications, complications, and best practices for safe and effective management. 

5. Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient care throughout the continuum of CLTI, PAD, venous obstruction, and IVC filter management.
