Course Overview
Experienced clinicians will teach the theoretical and practical skills necessary for the safe insertion of Seldinger-type pleural drains, with presentations, hands-on training using simulated models, and case discussions.
Course Objectives
- Review pertinent anatomy
- Discuss potential complications and preventive measures during Seldinger drain placement
- Learn Seldinger pleural drain insertion
- Practice insertion technique with featured devices, on manikins
- Understand the application of ultrasound guidance relative to drain insertion
