Course Overview

This course will increase your advanced therapeutic gastrointestinal (GI) procedure knowledge for endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)access, endoscopic ultrasound fine needle biopsy (EUS-FNB), and GI bleed management through didactic and hands-on educational activities at multiple simulated model stations. Experienced physicians share their hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) and bleed management expertise through case-based discussion providing practical, real-world perspectives. A unique component will be an open-panel discussions with the faculty, concluding with an anything-goes Q&A. This medical device course is designed for GI fellows who want to learn more about ERCP access, EUS, and GI bleed management, including detection and treatment.

Course objectives 

  • Practice different techniques to achieve access in ERCP on a cuttable papilla model
  • Learn when, where, and why EUS-FNB is performed
  • Learn more about GI bleed management, including detection and treatment
  • Hear experienced physicians’ explanations on the importance of advanced therapeutic endoscopy
